UXBRIDGE — Golf Ontario is excited to announce the inaugural Toronto Golf Gala – Developing Life Skills Through Golf. The Gala will be held on September 14 at the historic Toronto Hunt Club. The event is in support of numerous Golf Ontario youth initiatives within the province including: On-Course Programs, such as Future Links and Ontario caddie programs; Learn the Game Programs, like Golf in Schools; Community Youth Centre Partnership Programs, which aim to help at-risk youth, and Educational Opportunities for youth, through the Golf Ontario Scholarship Program.
“Using golf as a vehicle to instil life skills and core values in young people is the driving force behind the Golf Gala,” said Mike Kelly, Golf Ontario Executive Director. “All of the proceeds will go directly to programs and services which aim to provide these opportunities to the next generation, ultimately paying dividends for the long-term development of stronger communities and the sport of golf in Ontario.”
The event will be held at one of the most prestigious clubs in the province: The Toronto Hunt Club. Established in 1843, the club has one of the finest locations in the Greater Toronto Area, with a spectacular setting and unrivalled vistas on the bluffs overlooking Lake Ontario.
“As a long-time member I am thrilled that the Toronto Hunt will host the initial Golf Gala,” said Howard Atkinson, Golf Gala Chair. “The lawn and patio area, considered by many to be the best in the city, is a perfect venue for our event and the club hospitality is second to none!”
The evening will feature cocktails, great food, auctions, outstanding entertainment and special guest speakers, including TSN 1050’s Mark Zecchino.
