Tuesday will see the playing of the first official round of the 2016 Nike Golf PGA Team Championship of Canada in Bermuda.
47 teams of PGA of Canada professionals will compete over 54 holes in three different formats – four-ball, foursomes, and scramble.
Played at the Mid-Ocean Club, one of the best courses in the world, action will wrap up on Thursday, October 27th.
“The Nike Golf PGA Team Championship has quickly become a can’t miss event for PGA of Canada members,” said PGA of Canada president Steve Wood. “When you add up everything from the unique team format, the phenomenal golf course, the hotel and all the amazing dinners and parties, you really have a winning recipe for success.”
Tournament sponsor, Nike Golf, is equally excited to be supporting the event for the second year.
“Launching the Nike Golf PGA Team Championship of Canada in Bermuda was an unbelievable experience for the athletes, PGA of Canada, Bermuda and our brand,” said Tyler Keenan, marketing director of Nike Golf Canada. “We are excited to return to Bermuda and deliver another memorable event.”
Last year two of the best club pros in Canada, Billy Walsh of Unionville, and Danny King of Aurora, completed play at an impressive 21-under-par to become the event’s first-time champions.
The 2016 winners will take home $12,000 of the $90,000 purse.
